Priorities

After serving the community for decades through his work with the Boy Scouts, Rotary International, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, and Northport-East Northport Education Foundation - Jim Leonick wants to take his business knowhow and policy experience to Town Hall to make our community a better, safer, and more affordable place to live and raise our families.

Jim is committed to taking Huntington in a new direction by:

  • Establishing term limits
  • Creating a more open and transparent town government
  • Increasing responsiveness to residents' concerns
  • Establishing meaningful ethics reform
  • Increasing fiscal responsibility by controlling taxes, fees, and spending
  • Improving public safety by working with all levels of government to reduce gang violence and to halt the drug epidemic
  • Preserving our suburban quality of life by opposing overdevelopment through down zoning
